Musical landscapes

MUSICAL LANDSCAPES

Oh what a gift is music. It is but a simple thing, these sounds we call music.

Music is color.  It paints pictures in my mind, sweeping vistas and tragic landscapes, rolling hills of green.  Tender dewdrops on a petal soft rose, the rush of a thousand rivers to the silent sparkle of newly fallen snow.

Lush, electric and alive. Intoxicating,  liberating and primal.  It is emotion. Raw and simple, plain and beautiful.

Music wraps itself in fond memory and instantly transports me back in time. Music can stimulate. It forces yet gently prods to emotional highs and bittersweet lows.

Music is powerful. It is bold and commanding yet subtle with soft whispers and gentle kisses promising the foreverness of love and the joy of life. It is uplifting. It is strong, brave and true.

It is a necessity and my life would be hollow without it.

  2. I read this post and something strange happened. I got teary. I don’t know why. Perhaps it was the passion of it. Perhaps it was hearing my feelings come out of another person. Whatever it was, I thank you.

    • Hello Nouvelle: Thanks for thanking me. Music has always effected me emotionally. I have been known to get all misty eyed in coffe shops when certain love songs are played. I am planning doing a post on happy songs someday soon. So hopefully that will cheer us up. (haha) 😉

By the way….Great to see you!

  3. I really enjoyed this Music post. Music is a big deal for me personally, as I hear songs I remember special times in my life. Well not all good times, however, it does help me through many tribulations.

  4. Love the new photo at the top of your blog and your musical choices! Quite an assortment of lovely songs. Life indeed would be hollow without music. And when I hear someone say they don’t really get into listening I pinch them to see if they’re still breathing!

    • Hey Beckie: You have no idea what a musical freak I truly am. Someday perhaps you will find out the true extent of my freakishness and will shudder at the very thought of it. For now all I will say is keep up the good work with the pinching, It is an under-appreciated and very necessary art. 😉

  5. I love the moonlight sonata. (I try and play it myself!) For me it means passion, melancholy, love and the colour blue – calmness and turmoil all in one, in the ocean.
This post was a lovely idea! 🙂
