PEACE is Possible

“When I say it’s you I like, I’m talking about that part of you that knows that life is far more than anything you can ever see or hear or touch. That deep part of you that allows you to stand for those things without which humankind cannot survive. Love that conquers hate, peace that rises triumphant over war, and justice that proves more powerful than greed.”
~Fred Rogers

It may be idealistic

Perhaps a bit simplistic

To hope for what may seem

Impossible

improbable

And just plain unrealistic

But I can see

 The need is intrinsic

We are born altruistic

Because the world at peace

Is logical

And possible

If we can cease being pessimistic

And believe Peace can be a Reality

Rainbow Peace

That is the first step…

And this is my first post in Bloggers for Peace. Kozo at Everyday Guru’s has started this wonderful online movement for everyone that wants to join and blog for peace.

The details are here.  I believe this is a truly worthy cause and very doable. Please use your blogging talents and influence and spread the word!

Thank you,

Strawberryindigo.

  1. For sure peace is possible, but at the present time there are not many preachers for peace working in the field. We find many more people who love to spread division and hatred, wanting to become very popular by their populist visions and speaking.

  2. I agree .. we are born altruistic, but later on, something happens to us and we may forget …. Btw, I thought I still got your posts on my reader, but I can see I have missed some… if I take my time, dear it is cause of some pressure in my life right now, but I am very interested in keeping my eye on your posts 🙂

    1. Hey Paula: I agree, something happens to us and we lose that bond we ahve with others. Children are inspiring because they see our commonalities and not focus on differences. I too, have had problems with the reader; people disappearing. it is frustrating.
I am glad you have “rediscovered” me, so to speak. No worries, take your time, there is no pressure. It’s very good to see you! 😀

    1. Hey Janet! Thanks. I was lucky to come across Bloggers for peace. I learned about it from a new blogging friend and now I have more because of it. Peace lovers are wonderful! I’m going to be doing a post on the photoblog next month. I’ve put some directions on how I put badges on…I’m not good with directions…good luck my friend! 🙂

Click on the image. click save as, name it and upload it to your media…view it on the media and click the URL address on the side, copy that, then go to widgets, drag the image widget to the place you want, then on the URL address line paste the URL that you copied. click save on the bottom of the widget and it should appear on your front page. Yikes…did you get that? I’m confused myself. I’m not tech at all, I am totally self taught. If my goofy directions don’t work, it would probably be a good idea to go to the wordpress tutorials.

  4. I love this post, Strawberryindigo. I did a post once on how Fred Rogers was the first American guru, so I’m thrilled to see your quotation. I also agree that peace is intrinsic. War, hatred, anger, and violence are the anomalies. We are all one, so to attack anyone is attacking the self. Thank you for this beautiful contribution to peace.

    1. Thanks Kozo. Fred Rogers was a great man. He has been underestimated and put down but I think he did a lot for generations of kids becoming more “neighborly”. I appreciate your kind words and your commitment to an essential cause.
